An Autumn Evening – Fashion and Lifestyle Blog

On the eve of the holiday, everyone is sitting around the dinner table, feeling the cool breeze signaling the start of Fall, when suddenly I feel little drops of rain on my hands.
I went into a state of shock last week when daylight savings time clocked in together with the winter blues I suffer from.
The idea that it gets dark early makes me uneasy and overwhelmed but why? There are advantages – such as having to change my wardrobe, possibly renewing it as well.

At the recommendation of my close friend and stylist, Shachar Raben, I recently cleaned out my closet after dear Shachar took out all of my winter clothes claiming that they are all passé.  A few weeks passed until I got over the initial loss and feeling of emptiness from the extra space in the top shelf in my closet. Yet after taking myself on a shopping spree yesterday, updating my look for the Fall with new and chic styles, I feel better (pictures to follow…).

These picks will definitely keep me cozy this year as black is always in fashion and leopard print are always a wardrobe essential.
So which new items did you pick up for this season?

Founder and Art Director

My name is Michal Portman. I am 30 years old living in Holon, right outside of Tel Aviv. I love, live & breath fashion from childhood. I was born in Kiev, Ukraine to a fashionable mamma which started it all! Growing up I adored “Sex in the city” (am nicknamed Michal Bradshaw because I remind my friends of Carrie in my fashion taste and personality) just for the sake of fashion – that was the real story… my inspiration! Then I realized there’s no other way but starting my own blog – Matryoshka – where I started writing about fashion and lifestyle for women who love life and themselves. Matryoshka? That’s the famous Russian doll – each doll represents a different aspect of my personality and fashion sense. My blog is about new fashion trends, combining pieces from the flea market and brand names, self-nurturing and the good life… Due to my blog and its contents, I receive many invitations to launch parties and try not to miss any! On top of that, I have a degree in behavioral science, majoring in human resource management which definitely helped me in personal communication with others. All of the above are just the basis of my willingness to fit in to the fashion scene but most importantly is my love of fashion, the way I express it and the collaboration with people who put it all together in a magical way.
